Flis has come up with a good idea for a choir night out. It is a trip to see the stage show Mary Poppins on Wed 21st January 2009.
The cost is £45 per person and includes mid-stall seat tickets and coach transfers.
Anyone interested (choir members, friends and family) should pay £20 deposit by 19th March 2008, then pay the balance in two installments, one of £15 by 2nd July 2008 and the final £10 by 12th November.

The Capricorn Singers latest recording is available on CD and priced at just £6. It has 16 songs taken from our repertoire over the last two years, and includes the title track FLYING FREE and a wonderful arrangement of CROSS THE WIDE MISSOURI and you'll be hooked on our foot tapping Sister Act songs, MY GUY and HAIL HOLY QUEEN. Copies are available from choir members or at any performance, failing that we can post them direct to you home. Most of our bookings tend to be in and around the Fylde Coast (Blackpool, Cleveleys, Fleetwood, Lytham, St Annes and Poulton), however this does not limit us to accepting bookings further afield. The Capricorn Singers perform songs from the show, musicals, easy listening, ballads, standards and love songs. We like to think, most of the other choirs and societies around the Fylde have the operatic, choral and classical music well covered. New music suggestions are welcome from members and audience alike. New members are always welcome to come along to a rehearsal and see if the choir is just the singing experience they are looking for. Members do need to be able to sing (at least hold a tune) but do not have to read music. We learn by rote (play, listen, sing, repeat), plus we have some mp3 players to help with the learning and practicing at home. All music is committed to memory and we perform without copies - hope this doesn't put you off? This is a new website for The Capricorn Singers, simple in its approach, with nothing too fancy or garish and certainly no flashing adverts! The content will develop and grow depending on what the members (and visitors) want to see. |
