The Capricorn Singers received an invite to attend the Friends of Thornton Little Theatre AGM, held at the Theatre on Monday 11th May 7pm.

We have subscribed to become a Friend of Thornton Little Theatre with an annual subscription of £3!

It was a pleasure to meet the other representatives and users of the theatre, along with the theatre team.

We may even have a potential joint Christmas booking with the organist Michael Conradd and The Incognito Singers.  The aim of the performance will be to heighten the awareness of the sterling work undertaken by the Friends of Thornton Little Theatre.

After our request letter (no. 3) for storage space, one of the stewards from Cleveleys Park contacted the Musical Director to inform him that we may be lucky and get some storage space within one of the cabinets actually in the rehearsal room.

This will be a great improvement to the existing 'over head cupboard' in the hall. Hopefully it means we won't have to disturb the 'drama group rehearsals' much longer nor 'perform chair balancing acts' to get to our music!

We won't know until mid July whether we have been successful.

So watch this space!

A suggestion has been made that our music is outmoded and needs updating, therefore I suggest we arrange a series of visits to other choir's concerts, to get a better understanding of their styles of music, standard of singing and performance, thus enabling us to better understand our own music, singing and performance!
So girls, are you up for a challenge?

Have you any 'dust collectors' that you really don't need or want anymore (husbands and children not accepted), then why not offer them up for the forthcoming car boot sale.  Marie (from the alto section) has very kindly offered to organise and sell items at a car boot sale later this month.  She would appreciate a volunteer to help her with the collection and selling.
