About The Capricorn Singers

The Capricorn Singers Ladies Choir, founded in 1984, is based in Cleveleys near Blackpool and is a joyful blend of First Sopranos, Second Sopranos, First Altos, and Second Altos who simply love to sing.
Membership is open to any female person aged 18 or over with an ability to sing, contribute enthusiasm and commitment, and be able to perform at concerts and events through the year. We sing all types of music including pop and rock, musical theatre, film soundtracks, and easy-listening. We perform all over the Fylde Coast - entertaining people, promoting a sense of community, and raising money for charities.
We pride ourselves on the quality of our performances and, to this end, we commit every song to memory so we can focus fully on our Musical Director and her direction. This might sound daunting to new members, but it isn’t, our Musical Director mouths every single word to us during performances.
The choir has won many awards and accolades over the years and relishes the challenge of entering music festivals.
We enjoy the patronage of the renowned Soprano Jane Wilkinson and are a member of the National Association of Choirs.
We are a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales under charity number 1208375.
